HSIYF Tournament Winners
After a couple of days of reading through submitted documentation, we are happy to announce the winners of the HSIYF Hacking Tournament #1. We did NOT have an easy time deciding the winners, as there were several elements factored in the results. The two main elements factored in were speed of completion (of all the challenges) and the presentation of the results.
So, without further ado we would like to announce Vadium and Woff as the final winners of HSIYF #1. We will shortly publish our own review of the challenge. We would like to personally thank all those who participated and sent their results in.
we waiting for the paper
good tournament
we waiting for the next tournament :)

Congrats for the winners! And congrats for the organization, we enjoyed a lot this real hacking tournament ;)
well done vadium and woff!
what a great attack vector analysis ^^
Congratz VADiUM & woff
So timing was not so important as a dumb report. It looks like I’m not going to participate offsec contests ever as far as too much effort on writing is required and nothing on the real world hacking. Offsec, you guys better see how others do the same job (e.g. Defcon or iCTF).
This was a great stuff that OffSec gave us!!!!
Waiting for more tournaments!!!!
Congratulations to Vadium and Woff!!!
@Touzoku – This is a different concept from Defcon CTF’s. We really had a rough time deciding the winners. We stated ahead of time that documentation would be a significant part of the challenge. The purpose of the challenge was to have fun and learn. Sorry to see you go, especially after the great work you did!
ARGHH!! why didn’t i thought of googling “slogin_post” !!!???
thx for the great tournament and congratz vadium & woff!
Congratulations! Surely you are master FUs!
oh yeah, competition was really “sudden death style” :) all the people saying “great stuff” here – it wasn’ fun. it is not “fun” to just download an exploit and exec it ;) wanna get something really fun? try the _real_ CTF. even CIT CTF 16.05 will be more fun i hope :)
anyway, congrats to VADiUM and woff :)

Bravo Vadium and Woff…Looking forward to reading yur papers…
@kyprizel – *we* definitely had fun :) Sorry to hear it wasn’t mutual. The challenge required more than just downloading and executing ready made exploits… especially with Phase 2 machines. We were hoping that more participants would research the WAF instead of banging their heads against Iptables…
Congrats Vadium and Woff! Awesome job! Thanks offsec again for a great time.
Congratz u 2, was hell of a good challenge, waiting for the next.
Congratulations Vadium and Woff!!!
we enjoyed a lot this hacking tournament :)
Thanks to Off Sec Team for organizing such a wonderful tournament.
guys, you should call your contest “write the best report”,
spot confusing community.
btw, my Fu is two or three times stronger than others, that is about security contest, but not the count of screenshots in report…
@snowytoxa – we have no doubt about your Fu. Report writing was part of the contest!
Congrats to both of u . thx to offsec for a great time. i would be eagerly waiting for another competion or should i say a challenge like this.
As some are complaining about documentation. really c’mon….
Documentation is a KEY factor when reporting your findings to a company. It’s as important as the pen-test / audit itself.
So Cudos to offsec. Thou i didn’t do this one, but I’m up for the next FU Challenge if i got the time.
Good job EVERYONE…. This was a good competition and loads of fun…. Congrats to the winners!!!
